THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Things to do in the Bay Area

Sledgehammer Games is located in Foster City and part of the larger Bay Area. The area affords a wide range of activities, events and places to visit.

For the nature enthusiast, the wide variety of terrain hosts a number of outdoor activities. The various local and state parks on the peninsula are perfect for camping, hiking, and biking. If you're willing to go a bit farther, you can even find whitewater rafting on the American River and both skiing and snowboarding locations around Lake Tahoe. In true California form, the Bay Area has its share of great beaches including Half Moon Bay as well as Ocean Beach in San Francisco.

Foster City is nestled right between two of the biggest cities in the Bay: San Jose and San Francisco. Both cities not only offer great nightlife opportunities like bars, clubs, and restaurants, but are also home to an array of other great places to visit and enjoy. San Jose, roughly forty minutes southwest of Foster City by car, is home to such attractions as the Great America theme park, the upscale Santana Row shopping mall, Winchester Mystery House, and the San Jose Sharks hockey team. San Francisco is roughly thirty minutes to the northeast and is home to numerous tourist attractions and historical sites as well as many museums and gardens. For instance, the Golden Gate Park, just south of the famous Golden Gate Bridge, includes not only multiple gardens, stadiums, and lakes, but is also home to the California Academy of Science.

Whether you're interested in getting some sun at the beach, watching a game at AT&T Park, or looking at paintings at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Bay Area has something to fill your idle hours.
