SLEDGEHAMMER GAMES’ HOLIDAY CARD 2015 – DESIGNED BY SHG AND ALEX VARANESE

The holidays are a special time of year for the developers at SHG to appreciate and say thanks for all we have in our lives. From our charity initiatives to special events at the studio – we love getting in the spirit of the season. This year we partnered with a local Bay Area artist to design our limited edition SHG Holiday Card. We're excited to share the work of Alex Varanese, a SF designer, and give you an inside look at our process.

We wanted to see Alex’s interpretation of a fun and creative take on a studio holiday card based on stylistic elements drawn from Sledgehammer Games. He anchored the theme around the most iconic Christmas cookie – the Gingerbread Man.

We loved the direction, and expressed our desire for a deeper narrative within the card design. Collaborating together, we arrived at our final concept – and how can you not love our Gingerbread Man, especially one so skilled in the fine art of ice sculpting. Warning: A peppermint blowtorch is not a toy.
